9 Mystery Game Demos From LudoNarraCon 2024
Upcoming titles to look out for in the near future
Happy Mystery Monday!
I’ve still playing through all the entries from the Mystery Game Jam. So far I’ve played through about half of them. But from what I’ve experienced so far, they’re all unique, and each developer did a great job making something truly special.
I’ll definitely be able to highlight a few of those to talk about in a future newsletter.
But until then, here’s the usual weekly roundup of games being featured on Steam!
A fest on Steam called LudoNarraCon — a digital festival celebrating narrative games — recently caught my attention. I’m not 100% sure whether it ends today or later in the week, but I found a pretty interesting selection of games from that event that I thought were worth sharing today.
The following 9 games are all upcoming titles with demos you can download right now, although I don’t know if those demos will be available after LudoNarraCon ends, and like I said I’m not entirely sure when the festival ends, either.
Hopefully the demos will remain up for a while, but even if not, you should keep an eye out for these games and consider adding them to your wishlist:
1. The Mermaid Mask
Magnus Mortuga has been killed. The captain of the world's strangest submarine, he was found in a locked room with an ancient stone cauldron - unsealed and opened for the first time. How did he die? Was it a curse? Perhaps one of his eccentric crew? Or does the bizarre truth run even deeper...
2. Nirvana Noir
A noir adventure beyond time and space. The city of cosmic beings is under threat in two parallel realities - one where the Big Bang was never fired, the other exploding in color and sin. It’s up to you to solve the mysteries of the Bigger Bang in this follow up to the award-winning Genesis Noir.
3. Moses & Plato - Last Train to Clawville
A murder mystery where you are the main suspect! An ambassador on a peace mission has been killed on board the Clawville Express. Time progresses as you sniff out clues, eavesdrop on conversations, and interrogate passengers. Can you solve the case before the train reaches the last station? Or else.
4. The Horror at Highrook
The Horror at Highrook is an occult card crafting RPG. Explore a haunted mansion with your team of investigators, summon dark entities, craft powerful protections, uncover the fate of the missing family, and choose your own path through the darkness.
5. Follow the meaning
Follow the meaning is a point-and-click puzzle adventure set in a peculiar town filled with folk who feel increasingly threatened by the rising authority of the Hospital and its Doctors. What is happening on the other side of the wall? Join detective Paul Trilby and help solve this crisis!
6. Albert Wilde: Quantum P.I.
Solve murders, investigate crime organizations, recover from definitely-not-a-drinking-problem. Maybe discover a wormhole to another universe? Also, you’re a cat.
7. Mexico, 1921. A Deep Slumber.
Immerse yourself in an emotional and intriguing narrative adventure video game about the awakening of a country.
8. Times & Galaxy
Embark on an interplanetary adventure as the first robo reporter for the Times & Galaxy, the solar system’s most trusted holopaper. You’re just an intern, but if you can get the scoop, write great stories, and impress your colleagues, maybe you'll get to keep your job!
9. Loco Motive
On the Reuss Express a passenger has been murdered, and you’re the prime suspects. Uncover a thrilling mystery and solve satisfying point and click puzzles to prove your innocence! A slapstick adventure, packed full of deadly surprises, shocking twists and larger than life characters!

Love the art style of The Mermaid Mask! Brings me back to the early 2000s or so 😅
This post is the best!! Thanks so much! I’ve been waiting for the follow up to Tangle Tower!
