Our First Community Game: Reaplaced!
Even before launching Mystery Gamedev this year, I always wanted to try making a game alongside other experienced mystery game developers.
It was pure coincidence that the Spooktober game jam started right after we launched Mystery Gamedev, but it was the perfect opportunity to try making a group project.
Our team included the developers behind games such as Detective Butler, Methods, SoulSet, and The Game of Fourtune — quite an all-star lineup!
The jam was also an opportunity for some newcomers to join, learn from our veteran developers, and experience the thrill of creating a game from start to end.
There is quite a lot I could say, but to keep things short:
I couldn’t be more proud of our team!
Everything went incredibly well, and even though I knew we’d be able to make something great together, the end result exceeded even those expectations.
It was such a great experience that we will absolutely do another community project in the future, so feel free to join us next time.
But now, for the moment you’ve all been waiting for: our community game!
Reaplaced is a supernatural Halloween whodunnit. Solve a chilling locked-room mystery before the grim reaper reveals the answer!

Grea Perrim is a reaper of souls, and it's her duty to bring the deceased to the other side. Her supernatural senses bring her to a Halloween house party with three costumed guests. She soon finds the most valuable kind of soul: the victim of a locked-room murder. Is this the work of a human? A witch? Or something else entirely...?
Reaplaced is a linear murder mystery visual novel with only one ending. There are choices, but they only affect the order in which you experience the story.
Your goal is to solve the mystery before the truth is revealed at the end of the game. Clues will be added to your inventory to help you piece together the answer yourself.
