Happy Mystery Monday!
Today marks the beginning of Steam’s FPS Fest!
If you’ve ever wondered if there are games that combine the action-packed gameplay of a first-person shooter with the intrigue of solving a mystery, you’ll be delighted to know I managed to find a few!
It was actually quite hard to decide on these. Many that I found were more horror than mystery, some had you committing the crime rather than solving it, and others had the first-person viewpoint and guns, but no shooting.
There were also a number of “social deduction” games featuring the use of guns in a first-person viewpoint, but I’ll save social deduction games for a later blog post.
Some games on this list have typical FPS gameplay with a mystery-centered story, whether it’s solving a murder or unravelling a global conspiracy. Other games actually have puzzles and investigation mechanics built directly into the gameplay.
Let me know in the comments what you think — and if you see something you like, don’t forget to buy it now or add it to your wishlist for later!
(Disclaimer: Games below may feature excessive violence, and gore. Player discretion is advised.)
