What's Next for the Mystery Game Masterclass
Preparing the Masterclass for a relaunch
Hey everyone, today’s post will just be a quick update on what I’ve been working on and my plans for the next two months.
As some of you may be aware, I had to take the Mystery Game Masterclass offline last month because I realized I needed to make some improvements.
After talking with several of you and reading your feedback, it became clear the course needed two major upgrades: a more flexible pricing structure, and a tool that helps you actually implement the material. With those features, the course should become more affordable and easily demonstrate its worth.
So that’s what I’m spending my time building!
What I’m working on now:
A brand‑new custom course platform that seamlessly integrates with the Mystery Gamedev website and eliminates expensive hosting costs. Visually it’s going to look a lot nicer and even offer previews of early lessons.
As a result, a much more affordable pricing setup. Lower monthly payments and even a lower tier, for those of who you have limited budgets but still want to learn. Don’t worry, I am listening, and I’m doing my best to meet you where I can.
And the big one: the Mystery Maker companion app, which connects your characters, clues, and puzzles in real time. This is the ultimate bonus for those who purchase the full package, turning all six modules of the course into a complete system for mystery game design.
These additions take time, but the end result will be far stronger than the original launch. The course and the app were always meant to work together — and now they finally will, at no extra cost to you.
When is it coming?
I have a lot of things going on right now so it’s very hard to make a prediction. I’d rather just make the announcement when I have 100% confidence everything is ready. But it’s going to take some time, as I’m essentially building two technically complicated software projects.
Considering the holidays are fast approaching, it’s likely best to just aim for an early January release. Which considering the timing of Steam’s Detective Fest, may actually be the best time to relaunch it.
There is a slight concern that it’s too far in the future and some people may forget about it by then, but I would rather take my time and do it right than rush things. I am already going as fast as I can, so it will be done when it is done.
I just figured it would be best to just announce all this ahead of time and make sure we are all on the same page. I know there are people looking forward to the course, and please continue to do so! I haven’t forgotten it and I’m actively working to get it back up and making it better than it was before.

I just hope you all know that I am doing my best to follow my mission of creating tools and educational resources for developers in the mystery game niche. That’s been my goal from day one, and I’m determined to do what’s necessary to make it happen.
Thank you for your support, and please look forward to it!
